Ian’s extensive knowledge and experience of music and the industry travels 30 years. His expertise in researching tracks and handling music clearances and problems solving budgetary issues, in addition to his strong ties with all the major and independent record labels and publishers has inevitably has meant working with many film directors and producers. Before becoming an independent Film Music Supervisor Ian built his strong reputation through his work as Head of Film and TV for Polygram Records, followed by hen Director of Synch at Warner/Chappell Music Ltd then ultimately at Sony Music as Director where he oversaw success in the world of advertising, TV, films and computer games and helped many of Sony artists gain further success in the world of synch including: Kasabian, Mark Ronson, Calvin Harris, Rag’n’Bone Man, Paloma Faith, The Clash, Primal Scream, Tom Odell & Tom Walker to name just a few. In the world of music supervision Ian’s first film as supervisor was Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, which resulted in a double platinum soundtrack and a strong collaboration with Brit director Guy Ritchie and producer Matthew Vaughn. Ian was therefore Ritchie’s and Vaughn’s choice for the follow up feature Snatch and Ian has worked together on many other subsequent films they have both made. Since 2004 when he set up his own company, he has enjoyed success as with credits from Control (dir: Anton Corbin) Joe Strummer: The Future Is Written (dir: Julien Temple), Kick Ass 1&2 and Kingsman 1&2 (dir: Matthew Vaughn), 127 Hours (dir: Danny Boyle), Nowhere Boy (dir: Sam Taylor-Johnson), Shame & Widows (dir: Steve McQueen) with 150 Film & TV credits to his name to date. Projects for 2022 include TV shows Ipcress File & Pistol along with feature films The Son by Florina Zeller, Tetris by Jon S.Baird & documentaries including Elizabeth by Roger Michell. Exec Producer credits include “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll”, “Who Killed The KLF” & “I Stll Breathe” with several other projects in the pipeline.
